print problem

Win2000 Prof machine. Local printer can print fine from
windows. If I try to print from command prompt it appears
to print but does not, and nothing shows up in the print
spooler. Is it possible there is a problem with parallel
port itself or the port driver? When I check properties of
parallel port, it shows 2 drivers. Is this correct? If
printing from command prompt is not getting to spooler,
what could cause that? Spooler works fine in windows.
Please advise. Thanks!!

I have read this article. He says in item (1) that if it
is a local printer attached to lpt1, then you should not
have any problem printing from command prompt. That is
what I have. The problem is elsewhere. Please advise
further. Thanks!

Not sure if it applies here, but I've heard that some printer drivers do not
support DOS emulation anymore.
Therefore, printing from some command line apps will not work on some
printers.

Suggest you try support pages for your printer manufacturer.

If it is not getting to spooler, then it must be something
else. This was printing fine from command prompt and dos
apps until I installed wireless network. That's when this
problem started. Should 2 drivers show up in properties
for parallel port? I think this is software, but don't
know where to look. Please advise. Thanks!
