I insert a picture into word, it looks fine in the normal view/print preview.
When I print it, the picture is always in a grey shade. Any ideas? I have
researched for a little while, but couldn't figure out. Thanks so much!

It's HP Laserjet 2100, not a color printer. It drives me crazy. Even if I
create a PDF file, the shade is still there. I checked my printer settings,
nothing suspicious.

Check your printer settings. (This assumes that you are using a color
printer of course.)

Try downloading a color printer driver. See if you can do it afterward.

I use insert-picture-from file, the picture is someone's signature in bmp
format.

I suggest you convert it to another format. I´ve had some similar problems,
even copying and pasting birngs a shade somehow. In some applications it has
something to do with themes .
Try inserting any jpg first to make sure it works ok. Then convert the
signature to another format, and make sure it has a blank backgroun in the
application used to convert.
Then paste it in word,.

It still doesn't work. Thanks for all the responses. The good thing is that I
know there is no easy way to fix it. I did some research on this board and
also some internet search, no solutions till now. Maybe this is not a normal
issue, or maybe I messed up with some other formats. I guess I will need to
recreate the file.

Best wishes,
