How do I stop form field shading from printing in Word 2007?

Hi,
I have created a form with fields in it - and the grey shading of the
fields is printing (which it shouldn't...) but I can't figure out how
to turn it off. Please help!

Thanks,
Nicole

Hi Suzanne,
I've checked and there's no fill or shading applied to the fields.
It's weird - I know that it just shouldn't do this. Any suggestions
extremely welcome!

THANK YOU!!

When you looked at the shading dialog, did you make sure that "Apply to" was
set to "Text" and not "Paragraph"?

Yep, I checked that. There's definitely no shading or fill in place.

I just had same issue today. I found that even if I converted all the fields to text (ctrl-alt-f9) they were still gray! Then I discovered that it had nothing to do with fields. There was a manual highlighting that someone applied to all the fields. select all (ctrl-A) and turn off highlighting. Fixed.

Old post now but if anyone needs to remove the shading it's straight forward, do the following:
Highlight the area you need to remove the shading from, select the Design tab, select shading, use the drop down and select "no color".

Now print and the shading will have been removed
