You will need bittorrent to use this file at all.

To enable download the ISO we need seeders. Seeders are the *main*
people that supply the ISO. _Anyone_ who has the ISO and *any* type
internet connection (slow or fast) can seed. To seed please open the
torrent in a version of Bittorrent and select the destination file to
save as the ISO that already exists. This will not overwrite this ISO.
It should recognize that you are 100% complete and make you a seeder.
If there is a seeding option (probably under internet connection) then
you may want to select that to make yourself a true dedicated seeder.

To download the ISO just open the torrent in Bittorrent and select where
you want to save the ISO. You should start downloading the ISO and
uploading to others also.

Susan, please feel free to put a copy of the torrent on your server if
you like."

"For those of you unfamiliar with Bittorrent, it is a peer to peer
client used soley for downloading files (especially large files just
like this ISO). A small .torrent file is created and a free torrent
tracker is used online to keep track of all the downloaders. The file
is downloaded in pieces. Any pieces that you may have will be sent to
other people that need those pieces. At the same time your computer is
downloading more pieces so everyone will eventually get the whole file.
People who already have the ISO can 'seed' the torrent which means
that they are acting as one of the main uploaders (usually there are
many others also). Anyone (with any connection) can be a seeder or a
normal downloader (aka 'leecher')."

Thanks for the headsup though...its good to keep tabs on these sorts
of things :)

I have the ISO and I pointed BT to it (and I will keep it open for a while).
If I get any uploads within a day or so I will keep it open, otherwise it
gets the ax.

I'd also post an ed2k link myself, but I suspect that most people are too
impatient to use emule, so what's the point...

And thank you for the clarification and info on Unify Media's infection
of BT. I had wondered about the subject and removed the program from
the one system that it was installed in.

Thank you rach. All the help we can get is most appreciated. I see
that there are 3 seeders now and 4 leechers. There is also 1 complete
torrent download so far. I'll leave mine open today probably until 5:00
14.4.04 UTC (its 15:14 13.4.04 now).

For some reason certain downloads go slow for me sometimes. I am also
seeding a few other torrents for my friend which is making my uploading
very slow. I am going at 2kb/s and have only uploaded 30mb in the last
6 hours. The torrent is going very fast thanks to all the seeders
though. :)

Here are the current stats:
Seeders: 4 :)
Leechers: 5
Complete downloads: 8!
Bytes Transferred: 30.77 gb
Current Speed: 701.13 kb/s

------------------snip-----------------

Just a thought, why not post it over at SuprNova.org? That way you'll
get lots of people downloading it, which means lots of seeders. I
know that several Linux distros are up there as well and have many,
many seeds and downloaders, resulting in fast download speeds. It
would also be a good way to get the word about about Pricelessware --
The more people know about and use the programs on the list, the
better, especially from my point of view. I'm a computer consultant,
and the number of people I see using spyware-infested programs is just
disgusting.

Oh, and to clarify, BitTorrent is open-source, which pretty much
precludes it having spyware. If you really want to be careful, just
go download the Python source and an interpreter to run it -- you can
see the code for yourself.

What say?

Finally finished my dload yesterday, with the dload speed ranging somewhere
between 5 and 20 KBps. I left it up overnight to return the favor and see
that it uploaded about 2.4GB, and when I walked in this morning it was
uloading at about 60KBps. Now why couldn't I ever get dload speeds like
that! ;-)

As a curiosity I'd be interested in periodically seeing the stats (as listed
above) to find just how far and how fast this iso is spreading.

Big thanks to all those that shared via bittorrent!

The stats can be seen at http://saveurulive.org/savelive/phptracker/

My friends server (where the tracker and stats are) is lagging a lot for
me today. After the main download site went down the torrent received a
huge increase in downloads. There are currently 27 seeders, 62
leechers, over 200gb of transfered data, and the current total speed is
1338kb/sec.

I hope the server's lag is not from the tracker and I hope it stays up.
On top of the tracker, his website recieves lots of hits from regular
visitors.

Once again, thank you to all the seeders. Seeding is greatly
appreciated. :)
