Preview Pane

Several of our employees has expressed the concern that using the
Preview Pane in Outlook actually opens emails and makes the computer
more open to viruses and/or sends a message back to spammers
confirming an address and adding your name to countless lists for
additional spam.

Is these viable concerns?
