Preventing the envelope icon appearing for certain messages.

I have certain rules that permanently delete or mark as read messages.
but the envelope icon appears in the system tray.

Is there a way of preventing this from appearing for those messages.

Not sure about this but try creating a rule to move those messages to
another folder since the tray icon usually only shows up for messages in the
Inbox folder

My rules already do that. All messages come into Inbox before have rules
applied to them which is when I think the envelope is displayed.
 
Same here, but I see option to process the rules before the messages comes in.
I really need someone to help me on this one. I deal with a bunch of emails
coming in and it disturbs my work.
