preventing new programs message

I know this is very simple but how can i stop windows from
constantly showing that there are 'new programs installed'
when i click start?

The only new progs that are tehre are the windows xp games
and setting access points. it really is annoyinh!!

Right click start and select properties. On the start menu tab select
customize. On the advanced tab, uncheck 'highlight newly installed
programs'.
