Prevent users from changing wallpaper and screensaver without AD

Peter Koh

Hi,

My company is working on customising the XP build before
a mass deployment of 8000 wks. We don't have AD yet and
still depend on NT4 servers.

Without using group policy, how can we prevent end users
from changing the corporate wallpaper and screensaver
that we have defined ?

Thks.

Run gpedit.msc (group policy editor), drill into user configuration,
administrattive templates, Desktop. There is a setting for changing the
wallpaper in there that should do it.

He has munged the mail address to avoid this,
the "N0 SPaM" part of <[email protected]>

You would need to remove the "N0 SPaM" part to send him a mail.

some sources look dodgy.

They just not look dodgy, they ARE dodgy (Worms that has harvested your mail
address from the newsgroups). Delete them...
