Prevent pivot tables from automatically resizing

I'm using Excel 2003 and would like to know how to prevent pivot tables from
automatically resizing when a new selection is made.

Can you explain in more detail what you mean by this.
What new selection? adding more rows to the source table?
 
Right-click on a cell in the pivot table
Click on Table Options
Remove the check mark from AutoFormat table
Click OK
