prevent displaying contents of zip archives in Explorer

I wish to prevent Explorer from displaying the contents of
zip archives as (a) I use an after-market zip manager
(Stuffit), and (b) I have folders which contain hundreds of
zip archives stored in them and it can take up to a minute
(it seems like an hour when you area waiting!) for Explorer
to search through each archive prior to displaying the
contents of folder.

I have found a work around but was wondering if there was a
switch or a Registry key change which prevented Explorer
from displaying the contents of archives.

Hi,

You may want to unregister the corresponding DLL file which handles ZIP
folders in Windows XP. To achieve this type at Start > Run..

regsvr32 /u zipfldr.dll

To revert back you may type the following :

regsvr32 zipfldr.dll
