D Dave Peterson Aug 22, 2006 #3 And just to add... If you put the file on a readonly drive, then that file won't be able to be updated by anyone with just readonly access. Excel saves as a new name, deletes (or renames the original file) and renames the new file as the old name. The that file can't be deleted, you may have more problems than you want.
