Presorting pictures for album

I have more than 100 photos I want to insert in an album in a set order.
I sorted them in a folder before beginning the process, but when they
appear in the sorting box of the Photo Album dialog box they appear in
what looks like a random order. Is it possible to pre-sort them?

Hi Gus,

which version of PowerPoint do you use? (Photo Album has been changed
slightly in the newer versions compared to PPT 2000.) As far as I know,
it's not an "random" but an alphabetical/numerical order. So if you add
numbers in the first position of your file names, you can pre-sort your
photos. Be sure to use "001" instead of "1", else 1 will be followed by 10
and 100.

I believe you should sort the sequence in the Photo Album instead of doing it
in the folder. If not, after inserting all the pictures using Photo Album, go
to View > Slide Sorter. You will be able to re-arranging and identifying the
pictures much more easily.

I am using Ppt 2003.
I once more checked, selected 12 files in alphabetic order, 6 files
starting with A, 5 with B and the 12th called Carnaval.jpg. On inserting
all files they appeared in alphabetical order except Carnival.jpg which
started as No.1.
I checked with another lot and found that the last one appeared again as
No.1.
After more experimenting I found that the quirk started as soon as more
than 4 files are inserted, four or less the sequence is OK.
Curious.....

I've just done a test also.....

in my tests everything was ordered (as you'd expect), alphabetically....
EXCEPT it appears that the 1 file that always should be last, appears as the
very first image in the list.

So a quick manual 'change order', to move the 1st image down to the last
position did the trick.
