To do some 'housekeeping', I've carefully arranged and sized several
My Computer folders on my desktop. Is there some utility I can use to
capture this workspace so that I can recreate it quickly at any time
please?

You could push the Print Screen button to copy an image
of the desktop to your clipboard paste it into paint or
whatever save it then when you need to recreate it you
know where everything was

Terry;
Do not forget about the Desktop Cleanup Wizard. You may be surprised at some point.
You might want to turn it off. Right click the Desktop/Properties/Desktop tab/Customize
Desktop button/UNCheck: Run Desktop Cleanup Wizard every 60 days/OK/Apply/OK. The
Desktop is not a good place to store files.

Couldn't he just make a backup of his DESKTOP folder?

Thanks Wes, but maybe I wasn't as clear as I should have been. These
folders are merely 'on my desktop' (note the lower case) in the sense
that they are on my screen. As you say, I would rarely choose to store
them there. They are not within Desktop. Just *displayed*.

Many applications which have allow multiple windows to be open (such
as my excellent test editor, TextPad), have a Save Workspace facility.
So I can restore exactly the same layout later if I want. That's what
I'm seeking on my Windows XP Home system. Again, I'm surprised it's
not a standard feature.
