presentation "blinking" using Powerpoint 2003

I just started using a new computer - Vostro 1700, Intel Core 2 Duo, 1.80
GHz, 2gig Ram, with Vista Home Basic and an Nvidea graphics card 8400 GS 128
MB

When I try to show a presentation through a projector the screen will
occasionally blink 3 times. Any ideas on how to fix this?

I'd consider updating the 'graphics card drivers'

and click 'support/drivers' and follow the prompts

Failing that I'd turn down something called 'hardware acceleration'
