Presentatin looks different on different pc's but same application

Hi All,

Wondering if you can help me.

I have a presentation which is fine on my pc but when I send to a colleague
it fires up (not even in slide show mode, but edit mode) and for some reason
the master slide has changed. In this instance a large picture has been
removed from the background. I've turned all the virus protection off on
their pc, as I noticed the document was scanned while opening, thinking this
may have removed it, but no. Still removed the picture.

They're running the lastest version (I think) of Powerpoint 2003 - we only
bought it 1 month ago. I've checked for patches incase it was bug in the
latest version of code - but alas, nothing. I've re-installed their
application but it continues.

Driving me crazy - our world is based on visual presentations and we cannot
work effectively while it continues to act this was. Please help.

Thanks in advance

Make sure you have all service packs installed. SP-1 usually resolves the
issues with missing images in PPT 2003. We're up to SP2 now, and that will
also take care of it.

To see what version you have, go to Help | About. You should see SP1 or SP2
at the end of where it says PPT 2003. If you don't see those, then you need
to go to Help | Check for Updates and install the latest service pack for
Office 2003.

I know you said you checked for patches, but I want to make sure we're on
the same page here and service packs are installed.

Hi Echo S, I've had a look at it doesn't look like any service packs have
been applied (only just bought the software so I assumed it was uo to date).
Perhaps I was looking at XP service pack info. I've had a look at updates and
followed the website link but can inly find SP1 update provided back in 2004,
but nothing since. should I apply this?

BTW - thanks for your help.

Cheers

Software usually sits on the shelf awhile -- by the time it gets through
manufacturing and is actually shipped and purchased, there can be quite a
number of service packs and patches for it.

Anyway, if you open PowerPoint and go to Help | About, what does it say? For
example, here it reads MS Office PowerPoint 2003 (11.6564.6568) SP2 That
SP2 at the end means I've applied SP2 for Office 2003.

Before we tell you exactly what to install, I figure we should make sure
exactly what you're running. :)
