Preschool ed game wants to install older QuickTime

I have a new (!) Broderbund educational app for my son on
his new XP Dell. When the installation wants to install a
much older version of QuickTime, I cancel that part;
sadly, it appears to not finish the installation.

Is there a way to get around installing this, or a better
way to group them together so I don't overwrite my current
version? It's using the Windows Installer, I believe.

Many thanks,

Jon

Jon,

You shouldn't have to worry about overwriting the newer Quicktime version
currently on your system with an older version. Most software developers
include version checking as part of their installation routines. The older
version should notice a newer version is installed. The older installer may
install some files it doesn't find already on your system, but it should not
overwrite newer files.

If you do encounter issues with the newer version of Quicktime, you can
contact Apple support for Quicktime at http://discusssearch.info.apple.com/

Hope this helps.
