I have just bought a new laptop with xp home and sp2 already installed. I
have an pre sp2 upgrade pro cd and I know it won'twork. Are there any fixes
of patches to make them compatible?

Slipstream the CD...Google for "autostreamer" also
"slipstream" to find details.

Create a new Windows XP CD with SP2 slipstreamed and then begin the upgrade.

Either one of the following utilities makes slipstreaming
(integrating) SP2 into Windows XP a breeze:

or

AutoStreamer 1.0.33 (preferred)
