PPT2007 - advancing slide after custom animation

Guest

I have added an custom animation (audio file) to each of my slides. How can I
set up my slideshow so that it advances to the next slide as soon as each
audio file has played? Using the "Advance Slide / Automatically After ..."
option does not work for me, because I need more precise timings than are
available with the 00:00 setting.

PowerPoint does not do well in presentations that require precise timings.
This is in large part due to the way that PowerPoint "plays" sound files.
In short it doesn't. It simply hands the sound file location off to the
system and says, "Please, sir. Could you play this," in its best Oliver
voice.

Are you using more than one slide per sound file? If not, then you should
be able to obtain the desired effect by setting the sound to auto play and
the slide to auto-advance in 00:01 seconds. Make sure the sound file does
not have a long silence at the beginning or the end. This will limit the
animation abilities within the slide, but most of those limitations can be
worked around.
