PPT navigation Shortcuts

Hi,

Any shortcut for going to last slide.

And any shortcut for moving to a particular slide number (like ctrl+H in
Winword for page navigation)

Being highly clumsy, I would be working on a particular slide and by habit
mistakenly click on the left window which contains the headings
Slide/Outline etc and end up getting thrown to some other part of the
presentation.

(Would also be glad to know the baptized name given by MS to the left
window in normal view - If I unclick on left window the view button says
"Normal Window (Restore Pane)" and If I click on it then View displays the
same menu as "Normal Window". but I dont get to know the specific name of
the restored pane)

To add to my woes I dont usually remember the slide number Im working on and
have to exercise my scroll buttons to quite an extent.

Have pursued shortcuts in awesomebackgrounds.com but it doesnt seem to have
what Iam looking for. Is there an authoritative list somewhere?

Please guide me.

Thanks a lot,
Hari

Good question.

I call it the Slide Thumbnails Pane and also the Outline Pane, depending
which tab I've selected in it. I've no idea what MS actually calls the
slides one, though. Pretty sure "Outline Pane" is correct for that one.

Hi,

Any shortcut for going to last slide.

Try Ctrl+End
Ctrl+Home to go to first slide
And any shortcut for moving to a particular slide number (like ctrl+H in
Winword for page navigation)

F5 SlideNumber+Enter Esc would do it ... it's a bit silly for short
presentations but if you have really long ones, it'd be quick.

If you use the scrollbar in the Slide (vs outline/slide miniature) pane, it'll
show you the slide number and slide title, if any.

Hi Steve,

Thnx for the post.
Try Ctrl+End
Im sorry I didnt explain my needs in a proper sequence. I actually wanted to
know the shortcut for moving BACK to the last WORKED upon slide without
actually knowing the slide number of the last worked upon slide. Like, if am
on slide number 14 and by mistake press on a random slide in the Slide
Thumbnails Pane and If I want to get back to slide 14 whats the smartest way
(One way is NOT to be... >> as clumsy as myself I would be working on a
particular slide and by habit mistakenly click on the left window which
contains the headings Slide/Outline etc and end up getting thrown to some
other part of the presentation. .. and >> To add to my woes I dont usually

F5 SlideNumber+Enter Esc would do it ...
Im somehow not able to make this work. I tried entering the numbering
through both keypad and otherwise but pressing F5 starts the slide show
(from slide 1), then I press the slide number I want to jump to (nothing
happens) and then I press Esc and end up in the first slide.

I also tried doing right click in slide show mode then pressed the letter G
then right arrow for slide navigator then Enter and then I have to press the
slide number (I am not able to press 2 digit or more slide numbers at this
point. if I press 103 it moves to slide 3?? Whats the right way for choosing
more than one digit slide number) and then I have to press escape.

Thanks a lot,
Hari

Ah. I don't know of any way to do that, I'm afraid.

Going into slideshow mode is deliberate.
But press the slide number then ENTER - that takes you to the slide whose
number you entered, and from there ESC leaves you back in edit mode, on that
slide.

You have to enter the whole slide number then press enter fairly quickly.

For example if you enter

2 [wait a second or two]
1 Enter

PPT takes you to slide 1

To go to 21, you need to press 2 1 Enter in fairly short order.
