Advancing slide with shortcut, focusing on notes pane

Is there a way to write a script in Powerpoint 2003 and/or 2007 that
will let me attach a shortcut key to advance a slide when I am inside
the notes pane, and also focus on the notes pane after advancing a
slide? I take lecture notes on the notes pane, but every time I need
to go to the next slide, I have to use the mouse to get to the next
slide, and then click in the notes pane to start typing. Just looking
for a way to make it more efficient for me. I tried to record a macro,
but that didn't record anything. I also don't know what resource to go
to in order to find info on how to write scripts for Powerpoint, kind
of like an API.

Thanks,
- Eli

Nevermind; I found out I can use a combination of F6/Shift-F6 and Up/
Down with a scripting software such as EventGhost to generate the
shortcuts that I need. :)
