A user cannot open an attachment in Outlook 2000 that is a 2 MB powerpoint
slideshow. He runs WinXP SP2 and Office 2000. He can forward the email,
and I can open the attachment. When he tries to open it Outlook totally
freezes and has to be killed in Task Manager.

What can he try?
Thanks,
Mich

What does his .ppt file extension show as the program to use to open that
file type? It should be PowerPoint.

He can open other PoerPoint files with no problem, but not ones in email, or
some other not very large attachments.

Does he have PowerPoint installed or is he using a PowerPoint viewer? What
program does the .ppt file extension point to in File Types in Explorer? I
believe the .ppt extension is for PowerPoint templates, as opposed to .pps,
which is a PowerPoint presentation.
