You can download PPVU that repairs the registry http://dechily.org/downloads.htm#ppvu
It's in french but I think you won't have difficulties to install and use
it.
If you just want to open the file, you can always just rename the file from a
".pps" extension to a ".ppt" and it can be opened for full editing - you can
then use the slide show menu to play it again
Try downloading the file to your hard drive first.
