Unable to open ppt files

I have Power Point 2007 Viewer in Vista Home Premium. I can open pps files
but not ppt files. I remember having to make a registry change before being
able to open a pps file. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Forgot to mention - the file will not open as a Win Mail attachment but will
open when saved to hard drive.

Not sure if this will help you or not, but it's as good a place as any to
start:

Changing a File Association, Repairing broken File Associations
http://www.pptfaq.com/FAQ00355.htm

(There's a little email-specific information in there.)

Oh, this might also help:

Can't open attached presentations from within Outlook Express after applying
Windows XP SP2
http://www.pptfaq.com/FAQ00657.htm

(Page needs to be updated. Windows Mail is the next version of Outlook
Express. And the 2007 Viewer is the next version of the 2003 Viewer. But I
think teh principle is still the same.)

Thanks for your help - I did manage to locate the specific fix. As I thought,
the registry had to be changed. Details here:

Ah, thanks for that. We'll have to add it to the FAQ.
