Hi there,

My kid was using my desktop and something must have been changed,
because now everytime that I download a program from the net, it's saved
as a Powerpoint presentation, and not as an exe.

Heck, It's even assigned the Powerpoint icon!. If I try to open same,
it tries to open as Powerpoint, unsuccessfully.

What's going on..? What can I do..? If I try to open one of the
resulting "exe.pps" files with a different program, there's none that
will it make open as exe.

Obviously, I'm a cyber-neophyte. Any help will be appreciated.

Regards

M

Have you tried renaming the file?
Have you checked for viruses?

Hi,

Other than using right-click/rename on each file to drop the .pps file
extension, you might consider trying System Restore - that's what it's there
for.
