.pps does not open as slide show

I have saved a presentation as a .pps but it does not open as a slide show
when opened...

I assume you are trying to open it using the open dialog in PPT? What
happens if you try to double click it in Windows Explorer. If it does not
open have a look here. I suspect the file association has been changed.
