PPPOE

How do i delete a pppoe connection in XP. My isp uses
ethernet. I do NOT use pppoe, but it seems to be the
default connection. How can it be removed or permanently
disabled?

I have a similar problem that I am trying to get
sorted. I am using adsl via a nokia internal modem and
the isp requires pppoa. The default in xp is pppoe and I
can find no way to change that. If I get an answer today
will let you know. Please advise me if you get new
information.

Create a new Local Area Connection and configure it for Ethernet,
according to your ISP instructions. Once that is working you should be
able to delete the PPPoE connection or disable it.

Your problem is not similar. You need to make sure that the internal
modem is properly installed as a network device on your system and then
you need to read the directions for XP and use the network setup wizard
to begin setting up the right type of connection, either PPP, VPN, or
Ethernet and choose the nokia network adapter.

If your ISP supports that internal modem, they should have instructions
on what type of XP connection to setup. The fact that the modem uses
PPPoA on the network side is irrelevant.
