PP2003. Text, shapes or lines over a movie as it plays

How do I get objects such as text, lines, arrows or shapes to appear over a
video clip as it plays during a presenation. For example - I want to high
light an area of the video clip when it comes up on the screen by way of a
cicle or arrow.

It's a great idea, but PowerPoint always puts video clips on top of
everything else.

You'll need to edit your video clip itself. The Plays for Certain tutorial
will tell you how to overlay text on video, but it will block out the video
underneath.

The items you're talking about are typically called annotations and you'll
need to get a video editing software that lets you add them (MovieMaker does
not).

A google search should turn up several.
