PowerPt 2003 opens a blank presentation instead of the required fi

I have a user who is trying to open PowerPoint prsentations from a Sharepoint
site and PowerPoint 2003 only opens a blank presentation. Any ideas will be
greatly received.

What steps is the user taking to open the presentation files? Can they open
PowerPoint and then use the File menu to open one of the presentations?

I have seen this before with SharePoint. Try Sonia's tip: Open PPT, navigate
to the SharePoint area, then open the presentation. Another option is to
check out the presentation and save it on the local harddrive and then work
with it. When done editing, save it back to the SharePoint site.
