How in the world do I get my PowerPoint presentation to a
CD? Thanks!
.
Barbara,
I am presuming that you have a computer with a burner and
burning software (Roxio, Nero, Etc.). If you do, then
we'll proceed. First you need to format your CD in the
burner to be able to use the CD as a disk. Once that is
done, go to where the file of the Powerpoint presentation
is located. Right click on the Powerpoint presentation
icon and click on copy. Now, with the formatted CD in the
burner, go to "My Computer", Drive D (probably the burner,
if not use the burner drive letter), right click on the
burner drive icon and click the "paste" option. The
Powerpoint presentation file should now be on the CD.
When you go to eject the CD, it will ask you how you want
to close the CD. Pick the option that says something
like "let it be readable on any computer in any CD Rom
drive" or close to this wording. Now eject the CD. If
you want to check to see if the Powerpoint presentation is
on the CD, put the CD back into the drive, in My Computer
double click on the CD drive icon, and see if the
Powerpoint presentation icon is there.
Good Luck !

One small after thought. If you have any mpeg or avi's inserted in the
presentation you must copy the movie to the same directory on the CD as the
presentation. PowerPoint won't embed movies over a certain size.

Generally good advice, BUT.........

You DO NOT have to format the CD. Using a mastering program,
formatting the CDR isn't possible. Only if you are using something
like DirectCD (or whatever Roxio has now) or InCD do you need to
"format" the CDR.

If you are using a mastering program, like Nero (for example), you
just drag your files over to the CD pane, then when you tell it to
write, check the 'finalize CD' option. Other programs will have
similar, but not identical, options.

I suggest that, from within Powerpoint, you use the pack and go Wizard
(File> Pack and Go ...).
You may need to download and install the Powerpoint Viewer for windows:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...22-B51F-4910-93FC-4CF2832D3342&displaylang=en
(for all versions of Powerpoint 97 - 2002).
Using this approach, you can:
a) Pack more than one Presentation,
b) Include the viewer which allows the presentation to be run on a PC that
does NOT need
to have Powerpoint installed.
