PowerPoint Video 2 Clicks

I am using a PPT with videos. While the video is running I click the slide to
advance and instead of advancing it stops the video. Then a click will
advance the slide. Also when I set the slide to advance after X seconds it
only works for slides without videos. Is there a setting I missed or it just
the way it works?
