PowerPoint Slide Show results in hang up

If I open a PPT slide and try to view as show the result is that my system
hangs up and the show never opens. It will happen on any PPT slide I try to
view as a show. I have saved the slides as show and presentation and I get
the same result. Please advise. Thanks

See if the slide show is set to show on a secondary monitor that is not
connected to the machine. Select "Slide Show" | "Set Up Show..." menu item,
ensure that the "Show on" box has "Primary monitor" selected.

Thanks! That was the problem.
I knew it had to be a setting but I thought I checked them all.
