I need to insert a scrolling text box into a PowerPoint slide, the sort you
get on web pages. The animation settings option is not controllable enough.

As part of one of my Universtity projects I have to build a web page on a
particular subject (I am a Sociology Student), as we don't study computers,
we have to do the web page using MS PowerPoint, as it is easier. I have far
too much text to fit onto a single PPT page and would like to be able to
scrole through as if it was a real web page. The problem with the Credits
Animation is that I can't control it and therefore my examinors wouldn't be
able to read all of my text, so I might lose marks.
Is there any way to overcome this?

You won't be able to scroll the way you want, but my suggestion would be to
organize the information in an outline format and create a slide with the high
level outline. You can link from the topics on the main slide to other slides
that have more detail on individual topics. Actually, this is how websites are
also designed, though pages aren't confined to what will fit on the screen at
one time.
