Powerpoint saves templates to wrong folder

When I create a design template in Powerpoint, and save it as a design
template, Powerpoint opens the wrong folder; C:/Documents and Settings/Alan
/Application Data/Microsoft/Templates

All the Powerpoint design templates are in C:/Program Files/Microsoft
Office/Presentation Designs

So my new templates dont show on the Design Pane.

Anybody know what's going on? Thanks.

That is the correct folder for USER templates Powerpoint differentiates.

Howver you should see them in the design pane. Try browsing to them with the
browse command at the bottom of the pane.

Thank you for so prompt and helpful a reply.

Once I had browsed to my folder and then closed and restarted Powerpoint, my
template appeared on the design pane. I take it browsing resets the User
Template folder - or at least, wakes it up?

Thank you again
