powerpoint wont display all design templates

How can I make powerpoint display all design templates (.pot). I have
downloaded some from the internet and put them in the proper folder
(C:\programfiles\microsoft\office\templates\presentationdesigns) but when I
click the design tab in powerpoint and the designs open up on the right of
the screen the .pot files I have added are not there. I have to click on the
browse button at the bottom of the screen to view them.

Once youve browsed to the file try save as > save as type design template .pot
save it in the folder suggested which should be <drive>\docs and settings \
your username\application data\microsoft\templates. Only the SUPPLIED
templates go in the folder you've used.

Thank you for your advice but they still wont show up in the right hand pane.
What I am trying to do is not have to click on the browse button at the
bottom. I want to be able to just scroll down the right hand pane to view
all the templates that I have.

When you add a new template in 2003, it doesn't show in the task pane until
you have used it (sometimes not even until you have used it once or twice).
I think this is true for 2002 as well.
