PowerPoint popping up on screen resolution change

Change Screen resolution in Display Properties and PowerPoint pops up out of
the blue. What's the matter?
WinXP, Office2k.

I'd start by powering down the PC completely. Leave it off for five minutes
then restart.

Does the same thing happen again?

There was a ghost powerpoint process in task manager.
The system wasn't shut down/restarted for some time, it was left to
hybernate during night. So it was hardly remembered when powerpoint had been
actually run. And noone knows why it left that running process.

That's what I suspected. And reboots/taskmanager expeditions are so much more
convenient than calling in the exorcist. ;-)

It does that sometimes when it crashes.
