Powerpoint No-show

Could use some help. A Powerpoint presentation will not open the "Slide Show" view--it opens as a task on the task bar, but clicking the taskbar icon doesn't bring the window up. If I right-click on the taskbar icon, it doesn't give any menu items. Any help will be appreciated.
