When i start my laptop using XP i get the message"powerpoint has encountered
a problem and needs to close"

How can i fix the above problem?

I am running Powerpoint 2002 on Windows 2000. I am not sure about the status
of updates.

I removed and then reinstalled office, and the problem persists -- powerpoint
will not launch and I get the message "powerpoint has encountered

a problem and needs to close"

I tried the process listed in the KB827319 but when I do this, the tool for
Visual Basic Editor is greyed out. I'm at a loss!
