Powerpoint handouts should be savable so that they can be attache.

I wanted to be able to take a presenter's Powerpoint presentation, turn it
into handouts, and then email it out to the registrants.

However, currently you can only print handouts. Ideally, I would have like
to save it as a Word document.

Things to try:

- File, Send To Word (free, but may make humongous Word files)

- Bill Dilworth's similar add-in (smaller files, more flexible, Bill, what's
that URL again?)

If you're certain that all registrants have Word, one of these should do it for
you. But otherwise, an Acrobat PDF might be a better way to distribute the
material. If you have Acrobat, print handouts to the PDF driver and you're
done.

I can send the file to Word, but as you say, it's huge because all that does
is create a Word document with a page per slide.

??? Normally it creates a table in Word with several slides per page. What exactly
did you do?

I tried saving it as a pdf and I got a pdf file per slide...again it was
huge and un-sendable.

Again, this sounds very odd. If you print slides to PDF you'd probably get one
*page* in the PDF per slide in your presentation, but not a pdf per slide.

You need to choose File, Print and choose your PDF printer driver instead of the
regular printer, then choose "Handouts" in the Print What area and pick however many
slides per page you want. That creates a PDF file that you can print, attach to
email or whatever you like.
