Powerpoint Files from Japan

I have just acquired a new Dell PC with Office 2007, but when I receive
Powerpoint files from colleagues in Japan they will not open. My old Dell
also had Office 2007 and has no problem opening the same files. Any ideas?

Does your new Computer Have Office 2007 Basic? If so it does not come with
PowerPoint

How about trying resaving the file in the Office 2007 on your old Dell
computer, and see if it will openon the new Dell PC?

Yes I have Powerpoint 2007. If I save as a PP 2003 file on the old PC it
will open on the new one, but that is not really a long term solution.
