When I start (or restart) Windows XP I get an error
message that reads: "Microsoft Powerpoint has encountered
a problem and needs to close".

Note: I am not attemptiing to use PowerPoint at this
time. I am only going to my desktop.

I have performed Office's Detect & Repair with no results.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

You must have something trying to start with Windows that is calling
Powerpoint. Go to Start>Run and type "msconfig" without the quotes.
Look for the culprit and uncheck the box. Apply and OK out of there. I
can't tell you why Powerpoint is crashing, but it may be because the
file that is calling it is missing or corrupted. Also, be sure you are
running a *current* antivirus program using updated definitions.
