Powerpoint charts font size problem

I am creating a powerpoint presentation with a number of excel charts. My
problem is the fact that the size of the font is completely inconsistent,
despite the fact that I am using the same font, and the same size in each
case. For example, the y-axis of my graphs is in 12 point Arial, but on one
slide the numbers look bigger than another. The graphs are exactly the same
size, and I've turned off Auto Scale, but still no help. Is there any way to
fix this? I am using MS Powerpoint and Excel 2003

Set the view on the chart sheet in Excel to the same size (100% is usually
good), then copy. Paste onto PPT slide. Right-click, choose Format Object,
and make sure the size % there is the same on all charts on all slides. It's
the % size that's important.
