Powerpoint AVI file

I am trying to insert a movie (avi) into powerpoint and it goes back, I tried
different ways through it playing automatically or once clicked and both ways
are not working. I checked the path to this file and it isn't a long path.
Does anyone have any other suggestions?

I am sorry I was trying to do a hundred things at once the screen goes "black"

Christine I am having the same issue with AVI files turning black when I
click on them. Have you had any luck trying to find a solution? thank you!

no no one has responded. But you might try the path to that file if the file
name is long it takes a while for that file to be retreived and it locks up
that way.
