Powerpoint 97

My system has recently been updated to Windows XP. I import tons of slides
into presenations using PPT 2002. When I use a different computer that runs
Windows NT still and runs PPT97 the formatting on the slides appears
completely distorted and in the wrong colors.

Two questions, what causes this...the Windows version or the older PPT
version or both? Secondly, is there anything I can do on my side to allow our
customers with older Windows/PPT to view the presentations as they should
appears?

Lastly, we have a large distribuation of our presentations burned onto CD's.
Is there anything I can add to the CD for the customers to download and view
the slides as they should appear?

I downloaded the 97 viewer onto the Computer with Windows NT/PPT 97 verison
but the formatting still did not show as it should. Help.

Thanks for your help.

I would check the Display settings on the other machine, particularly the color
quality and screen resolution. Both could cause display problems. PowerPoint
97 doesn't support the new features that were introduced in PowerPoint 2002, so
animations and transitions will be different. If you've used fonts that aren't
installed, that will also impact the appearance of the presentation.

I would start with testing the presentation on your system, running it in the
PowerPoint 97 Viewer. Do *all* of the problems occur? If so, it's due to the
differences between PowerPoint 2002 and 97. If not, the corrected problems can
be attributed to actual differences between the two systems, e.g. display, video
driver, fonts, etc.
