There are lots of ways that you can view a slide. In Normal View, you have
the slide on the top right, the slide pane on the left, and notes on the
bottom. You can, as I recall, go into a view that just shows the slide
itself and nothing else (I think this was the default Edit view in 2000 and
earlier). Also, you can change the Normal View to switch between showing the
slides themselves on the left and the Outline on the left. What exactly do
you want the screen to look like?

Hi David,

I didn't explain myself too well - what is happening is when stepping
through the slides the new slide is overlaid on the previous slide in the
slide pane - so if I have a presentation with say 10 slides and I step
through them, then all 10 slides will be overlaid each other in the slide
pane...

Well, that is different. Here are two things to try:

(1) Detect and Repair (it's in the Help menu in 2003; I'm not sure where it
is in 2007).

(2) Check that you have a Microsoft certified local printer driver
installed:

Obviously, what you are describing is not normal behavior. Hopefully, one of
these things will help you out. If not, shout back.

Hi david,

Thanks for the pointers - I will give them a try and confirm if it fixes the
problem.
