PowerPoint 2002 - slide transition problem

My issue concerns a difficulty with slide transition in
PowerPoint 2002. Text becomes fragmented and appears on
screen at the wrong time when using PPT2002. The
presentation is fine when viewed with PPT97 or 2000 (it
was originally based on another pre-2002 presentation).

Any ideas?

I wonder if it will help if you disable the new animation features in
PowerPoint 2002. Go to the Tools menu, choose Options, and click on the
Edit Tab. At the bottom, you should see a section for "Disable new
features." Click the one for animation, and see if that helps.

I take it you mean custom animation on a slide? I've had this happen
many times even with 2003.
The fastest way to correct this is to delete the animation and then
re-apply it.
