PowerPoint 2002 organization chart

Hi,
I am using PowerPoint 2002 and am trying to make an organization chart.
Trouble is, when there are a large amount of boxes (subordinates) e.g. 7
subordinates, the font size decreases and the text is so small that you can
hardly see it.
Is there any way to make the font stay the same in all boxes, or is it
normal that PowerPoint tries to adjust the size to fit in all the text?
How can I manage to make a organization chart with large amount of
subordinates fairly quickly? Do I have to do everything manually, i.e. resize
the whole chart and
resize each box individually?
I have tried doing this but it is a lot of work..
What about the page size - does it have to be changed to landscape in order
to fit everything?
Is there clear instructions available anywhere on the internet how to create
organization charts in PP2002? I have found only basic instructions.

thanks in advance.

Hi Anita,

my advice is NOT to use the OrgChart tool, if you deal with many employees.
And in this case my definition for "many" is "more than four". Make ONE box
with the necessary size, color, font size, etc. Press Ctrl+D to duplicate it
as often as you need to. Roughly arrange the boxes on your slide and type in
the correct names. Use the Align and Distribute functions of the Draw menu
to neatly arrange them. Add connecting lines.

This may sound a lot of steps, but if you've done it once or twice, it's
faster than correcting PowerPoint's automatisms.

Kind regards,
Ute

Hi Ute,

I tried this Ctrl + D and managed for the first time to make a manageable
organization chart with several subordinates.
Indeed this is much easier than using the normal organization chart toolbar,
even though you have to fiddle around with the lines, alignment etc. but it's
worthwile.

Thank you very much for your advice!
