New feature with PowerPoint 2002: we can now insert
an .eps file in PowerPoint (Yeah!) and it prints perfect,
BUT can anyone tell me why onscreen mode: .eps file shows
a ragged edges, not smooth view? How can I fix this
problem?

Please help!!!

To a PostScript printer? It's been able to do this since PowerPoint 4 at
least. On a good day, if you held your head just so and faced west by
northwest and bowed when you hit the print button.

'Bout the same now, near as I can tell, except that PowerPoint 2002 will now
attempt to create a preview from the EPS on its own instead of using what's
there in the EPS file (not a bad deal if the EPS doesn't have a preview
image at all - kind of a waste of time and resources if it does, and an
annoyance if the preview in the EPS is already better than the one PPT wants
to make).

What you see on screen is a preview image, not the real EPS. If the program
that made the EPS supports it, you can create an EPS with a higher
resolution preview image. Otherwise, use EPS for print purposes only and
use PNG for or WMF for presentations that must look good on screen.
