I am unable to use my Power Point 2000 to open and edit a bitmap. My office 2000 has sp3 installed

According to Q212281, bitmap is supported by power point 2000

How do I get my power point 2000 to support openning bitmap images

Your help is deeply appreciated

PowerPoint does have the capability to open a bitmap image and edit it. For
that you'll have to use an image editing program. However, you can insert
bitmap images on your slides using Insert > Picture > Picture from Tile.

PowerPoint does have the capability to open a bitmap image *but not to* edit it.

I forgot the "does not", but I would have placed it differently. "

You can bring bitmap images into your PPT presentation (choose Insert, Picture,
From File) but you can't open them as such, nor can you edit them within PowerPoint
once they've been inserted.

You'd need to use an image editing program for that.
