Power Users on XP machines

How do I get users in a 2003 domain to be power users on an XP machine
without adding them t the Power Users group on the XP machine individually.
Can I change their default group from normal users to Power Users somewhere?

I have a security group setup with the users in 2003 but the XP machines
will not allow me to add that group even if I log onto the machine as the
administrator for that machine.
 
Use the restricted groups feature in GPO to put specific users and groups
into the local power users group on your XP workstations.
 
I am not too familiar with GPOs yet but I have looked at them a bit. Do I
do this solely on the 2003 server or on the XP machine?
