HI all :)

Well heres my problem, I recently discovered that you could assign a user to
a "power user group" type off account in windows xp, and this has worked for
me fine on windows xp pro systems. The other day I thought Id setup my
friends laptop so that his user account belonged to the "power user group" he
has windows xp home edition. Well I got an error message saying that no such
group existed or something along those lines (sorry i cant remember the exact
error message) Then when I rebooted the computer his user account had
disappeared from the list off accounts available at the welcome screen.

If I loged on as the administrator and go to "c:\documents and settings\" I
can still see the guys account in there, and all his files are still there as
well.

I've created a new account for the guy and transfered all his files to it,
but if I try to create a new account with the same name as the one we cant
see, then it says that account is already active ????

Any ideas anyone ?

This is probably a long shot but you could try running System
Restore to take the system back to a time before you tried to
change his account type. If you're not familiar with System
Restore, take a look here:

Good luck
